Nyakalla Adventure Tours was founded in 2018 by Peter Cronje, a Cape Town-based rider who got tired of watching tourists experience South Africa from the window of a minibus. He believed — and still does — that the only way to truly feel this country is on two wheels.
What started as informal weekend rides with friends quickly grew into a full tour operation, with repeat clients returning from Europe, the UK, the US and Australia. The name Nyakalla comes from a Zulu word meaning "to feel something deeply" — exactly what happens when you ride Sani Pass for the first time, or crest Chapman's Peak at dawn.
Today we operate six flagship tour routes, maintain a fleet of six premium adventure bikes and run departures every month of the year. Every tour is led by a certified guide with a minimum of 10 years' riding experience on South African roads.
